BERNIE COOKS AND BERNIE ROCKS! What's in a name?
A Mulberry Chamber member since 1995, when Bernie Cook of Bernie Cook & Associates in Lakeland read the last newsletter, this former Marine didn't hesitate. "I'm familiar with the Habitat program, and I decided to let a few of my friends know about the Mulberry project and we've cooked for two week-ends now". He and his friends actually cook often and compete in competitions. Their team is known as "Background Noise" and made a "Country Sausage Potato Pie" on one Saturday. "It just doesn't get any better than that" says Bernie and from the favorable comments from the workers, he's right. The Chamber salutes your participation and we'll be waiting to taste more of your cooking when you compete in the BBQ cook-off - Mulberry Fine Swine at the Pit on October 4th, at the American Legion Post #72 in Mulberry.
AMERICAN LEGION GOES TO THE DOGS
The Imperial Polk County Obedience Club will be holding an AKC sanctioned event at the Legion on Saturday and Sunday, November 1 and 2nd with about 250 dogs. The Legion will be holding a cook-out that will be open to the public from 10:30 - 2:00 p.m each day of the event.
